Conversations with Children: Part 2

Scene: Student K is reading about Colonial America during my RTI group.

Student K: Miss C, how did they have babies if there were no hospitals?
Me: They had their babies at home.
Student K: Miss C, did you know that some people have babies in water?
Me: Yes.
Student A: Why would people have babies in water?
Me: blink blink
Student A: Is it because they are water spirits?
Me: Yes.

Yesterday I...

- Played "Ladies who lunch" with S and we caught up over some chicken parm.  Nom Nom.  We visited stalked her soon to be new house and picked up M-face from daycare. 

- Finished James and the Giant Peach for the first time since 3rd grade-ish. 

Some thoughts:
1. I want to write books like Roald Dahl...except be a little less creepy.
2. I now want to eat a peach.*  Nom Nom.
3. There is MAJOR stranger danger in this book!  James meets a "magical" man who gives him an unknown substance (glowing crocodile tongues) and assures him that marvelous things will happen to him but he can't tell anyone.  #File under: Just Say No

Mmmm...I want to lick my screen.

Today is my favorite Ronald McDonald (but less creepy and with better makeup) look-a-like's birthday.  Her name is Summer and she writes a blog about birthing and parenting the cutest baby ever!  And this birthday is kind of a big deal as she is joining a NEW DECADE!

She is trying it out for me so that when my time comes in February I know that everything will be okay.
