The Town Hall Debate is My FAVORITE!

I love that the candidates get to walk around and get in each other's faces. It makes them so much more argumentative.

When discussing gas prices, they got up in each other's faces and began gesticulating wildly.

In my head I was all, "Deck him. Deck him. Deck him." I don't care who hit who, but I wanted to see a someone throw a punch.

Obama: "Bitch please."

Obama: What.

Romney: "Pointing is rude."

Romney: "But I'm not done talking yet."

Good Question: Governor Romney, how are you different from George Bush?

Romney: Let me have the last word on the last question. I believe all women should have contraceptives.

Me Trying to Watch the Presidential Debate

Me: Okay, I already know who I'm voting for but let's do this. Educate me Mr. President.

Jim Lehrer: How are you going to fix the world?

Obama: Happy Anniversary Michelle!

Romney: Congrats on your anniversary bro.

Jim Lehrer: Okay but really, how are you going to fix the economy?

Romney: My plan is best. Can't give you details but it's the best.

Obama: Your plan DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!

Romney: (Side smirk) Yes it does.

Obama: Then explain it.

Romney: I don't have to 'cause it's the best.

Jim Lehrer: Next segment. Tell us how you much you disagree about social security.

Obama: Actually we agree. Let's talk about medicare and my grandma instead.

Romney: Old people are fine. Let's make young people buy private insurance even though they can't afford it.

Obama: (Side Smirk)

Jim Lehrer: We'll talk about health care later.

Romney: No. I want to talk about it now.

Obama: Me too. One last point.

Romney: One last point.

Jim Lehrer: But, but, but.

Romney: But I still have one last point. Let's talk about...

Jim Lehrer: No let's not.

Me: Dear Romney, stop being so fucking rude and respect the rules of the debate!

Romney: (Side Smirk)

Me: Medicare to banks in 3.2 seconds...I give up. I'm going to bed.

Edit: Romney and Obama apparently do not know/understand the rules of a debate.

There Are No Words...

Okay...there are some words. I'm at my favorite car dealership getting a tune up and an overdue (oops!) state inspection.  No friendly dogs this time. Actually there is no one here at all...but they still told me it would be an hour and a half wait. So naturally, I'm amusing myself by taking pictures.

Boredom inevitably leads to public embarrassment!

Live Action Blogging: Best Buy Edition

What are you up to on this beautiful Veteran's Day?  Hopefully something more meaningful then I currently am.

So far I have visited Santa at the mall, bought 8 pairs of underwear and am currently drooling over the MacBooks at Best Buy.  Naturally, I thought this was the perfect place to embarrass myself in public.

Proof.

And...it's official.  I want a MacBook.

Live Action Blogging: Lightning Edition

In a very rare occurrence, WEMA had a tornado touch down in downtown Springfield.  In EMA (Eastern MA) that storm hit us during the 7:00 hour.  Naturally, I decided to sit at my window and watch the storm.

FYI:  In New England, we get awesome thunderstorms but rarely are tornadoes attached.  Also, these thunderstorms frequently occur mid to late afternoon following a sweltering and humid day.  While I cannot vouch for the humidity of today (I was playing hermit and did not leave my apartment) I can tell you that inside my apartment was super sticky.

The local news station interrupted TV programming to show us this:

The sky outside of my apartment was a crazy shade of yellow.

The storm started.  To one side of my apartment it was a beautiful sunset...but on the other, the lightning began.

Within 10 minutes it was raining so hard that the rocks outside of my window went from this:

To this (slow-mo lightning):
Photobucket

Obviously my extreme weather photography is beyond amazing and I will be expecting a call from The Weather Channel any day now.  The news had to break into programming to assure people that despite a tornado touch down and ongoing thunderstorms, they would cover the Bruins game as planned.  My favorite part of all of this is watching the weathermen geek out.

Weatherman 1:  "Have you ever seen anything like this in your career?"

Weatherman 2:  "No.  This is incredible!"

I got a text from R in WEMA advising me to "Get ready!  Seriously...water, blankets, radio and bike helmet."  Well it wasn't until this started that I began to get concerned.

So I quickly gathered all my storm survival essentials. This is what I came up with:

Apparently the only things I think I need to survive are:
Beach towel
8 oz of water
Cell phone with 1 battery bar
Pack of birthday candles
Small flashlight with no batteries
Barely charged iPod (it can get a radio signal)

Luckily the storm tapered off and I was still alive.  Let's knock on wood that a real disaster never happens because I would be woefully unprepared.

Live Action Blogging From SnowVegas 2011

11:50 am - I get out of bed.

12:30 pm - I rescue my snow brush from my car before it's too late.  At noonish there are already 6 inches on my car.  At least it is light, fluffy snow.

1:30 pm - I make myself some breakfast.

2:00 pm - I begin to wonder if I will be able to see out my window by tomorrow.

3:00 pm - I play Super Mario Brothers until my thumbs hurt.

4:12 pm - Kelly is taking diet pills on 90210.

4:30 pm - Wishing I went to the grocery store to get snowed-in food...a.k.a. mac and cheese, hot cocoa, granola bars...

5:00 pm - I am cold.  But I am refusing to turn up my heat any higher due to the sticker shock of last month's electric bill.

6:00 pm - I simultaneously attend to #2 and #12 on The List by finishing George's Marvelous Medicine.

6:55 pm - I find out school is cancelled tomorrow in Lexington...cause I'm still on that mailing texting list.

7:05 pm - I am annoyed that Blogger spellcheck doesn't recognize texting as a word.

7:35 pm - I am accused of having a fling with someone else's fake boyfriend.

8:00 pm - I eat chicken sausages and broccoli for dinner and wonder why this always happens to my potatoes before I can cook them.

10:00 pm - I start reading Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator and am less than impressed.

11:00 pm - I partake in the only daily routine I practice...watching The Daily Show.

11:30 pm - I find this:

DOUBLE CHEEZ-IT!  OH MY GOD!  IT'S A DOUBLE CHEEZ-IT!  WHOA!  OH MY GOD!  OH MY GOD!  DOUBLE CHEEZ-IT!  WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
